LineUp

Chicago’s famed classical orchestra, founded by Theodore Thomas; famed for Reiner “Living Stereo” best-sellers and Solti’s Grammy-winning Mahler/Bruckner recordings (Schnabel collab).
Antonín Dvořák, a celebrated Czech composer, was born in Nelahozeves, Bohemia. A master of the Romantic era, he infused his attractive melodies and brilliant orchestrations with Bohemian folk influences, later incorporating American elements. He is renowned for works like his Symphony No. 9 "From the New World," Cello Concerto, Slavonic Dances, and the opera Rusalka. Johannes Brahms supported his early career. Dvořák is celebrated for popularizing Slavic music and his versatile compositional style.
Riccardo Muti is an Italian conductor, widely recognized as one of the most preeminent conductors of his generation. Born in Naples in 1941, he studied piano at the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella and composition and conducting at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan. Muti has held prestigious leadership roles at major global musical institutions, serving as principal conductor or music director of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, London's Philharmonia Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and Milan's Teatro alla Scala, where his tenure was the longest in the opera house's history. He served as the music director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from 2010 until 2023, when he was named Music Director Emeritus for Life, and continues to lead the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini. Renowned for his meticulous fidelity to composers' scores, his extensive career has earned him numerous international honors, including multiple Grammy Awards, the Praemium Imperiale, and an honorary knighthood.
