Cortex is a psychedelic jazz-funk group founded in 1974 by pianist/composer Alain Mion and drummer Alain Gandolfi. Their 1975 album Troupeau Bleu is widely sampled by hip-hop artists including Madlib, DOOM, Tyler, Logic, Wiz Khalifa, and Rick Ross.
