Initially self-taught, Holland drew early influence from jazz greats like Leroy Vinnegar and Charles Mingus. He gained fame playing with Miles Davis, contributing to albums like "In a Silent Way" and "Bitches Brew." A Grammy-winner, Holland has led innovative collaborations with Kenny Wheeler and Steve Coleman. He's known for his albums "Conference of the Birds" and "What Goes Around."
