Dan Bejar, from Vancouver, founded Destroyer in 1995. Known for evolving styles, Destroyer progressed from Bowie-esque folk to cinematic pop with songs like "Kaputt." Bejar also collaborated with the New Pornographers and Frog Eyes, contributing to acclaimed albums like "Mass Romantic" and "Twin Cinema."
Frog Eyes, from Victoria, BC, are a post-punk band known for their psychedelic energy and were led by Carey Mercer and Melanie Campbell. They released eight idiosyncratic albums, including the Polaris-nominated "Paul's Tomb: A Triumph," and collaborated with Dan Bejar. Frog Eyes disbanded in 2018 but reunited in 2021, releasing "The Bees" in 2022. Their music is influenced by Tom Waits, The Cramps, and Nick Cave, with notable works like "Golden River" and "Folded Palm."
