Flipper and Pia Malo

San Francisco's Flipper, known for their post-hardcore punk sound, debuted with "Sex Bomb" in 1982, praised for its raw, loud energy. Their influential album, *Album—Generic Flipper*, featured songs mixing humor and depth. Despite modest fame, they earned underground rock acclaim. Vocalist Will Shatter's death in 1987 marked their temporary end. Flipper reunited in 1992 with Rick Rubin's encouragement, releasing *American Grafishy*.
