Godflesh, from Birmingham, England, are pioneers of industrial metal, known for their noisy guitar riffs and drum machine rhythms. Debuting in 1988, they influenced bands like Metallica and Korn. Led by Justin Broadrick, they experimented with genres like dub and drum'n'bass across albums like Pure, Songs of Love and Hate, and Us and Them. They disbanded in 2002, reformed in 2010, and continued to explore post-punk and electronic influences, collaborating with artists like Kevin Martin.
