Barbados-born DJ Grandmaster Flash (Joseph Saddler) grew up in the Bronx, pioneering DJ techniques like cutting and back-spinning. With the Furious Five, he made classics including The Message and White Lines and entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
