Mindi also founded wineandjazz.com, blending music and wine experiences.
Spyro Gyra, formed in Buffalo, NY in 1974, blends pop, R&B, and jazz with Caribbean influences. Known for hits like "Morning Dance," they earned Grammy nods and topped jazz charts with albums like "Catching the Sun." Core members Jay Beckenstein and Tom Schuman led the group through successful decades, collaborating with artists like Keb' Mo'. Celebrating 50 years, their live shows continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
South African-born Jonathan Butler is renowned for his blend of R&B, jazz, and gospel. He gained fame in the '80s with "Lies," earning a Grammy nod. Influenced by Stevie Wonder and George Benson, Butler explored apartheid themes and won a Sarie Award. Known for hits like "Sarah, Sarah," he collaborated with Ruby Turner and Marcus Miller. Memphis-born saxophonist Kirk Whalum blends gospel, R&B, blues, and jazz, winning a Grammy for "It's What I Do." Known for his soulful sound, he's collaborated with Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, and Al Green. His hits include "For You," and he co-led the smooth jazz trio BWB.
