Hailing from Sacramento, CA, Hobo Johnson, a mix of Azorean Portuguese, Mexican, and Native American roots, blends spoken word, punk, folk, and rap with his band, The Lovemakers. His viral NPR Tiny Desk entry, despite not winning, amassed 25 million streams. His debut album, The Rise of Hobo Johnson, racked up 65 million U.S. streams and sold out shows nationwide.

The Lovemakers

Bay Area's The Lovemakers, formed by Lisa Light & Scott Blonde in 2002, gained fame with their indie rock style and hits like "Shake That Ass." Known for their sultry appeal, they signed with Interscope, released popular EPs, and later joined Fuzz, Inc.
