Ilaiyaraaja

Ilaiyaraaja, born Gnanathesigan, is an Indian film composer, singer, lyricist, and multi-instrumentalist widely regarded as one of the most prolific composers in Indian cinema, predominantly working in the Tamil film industry. Nicknamed "Isaignani" and "The Maestro," he has composed over 7,000 songs and provided scores for more than 1,000 movies in a career spanning nearly five decades. Known for integrating Western classical harmonies and string arrangements with traditional Indian music, he became the first Asian to compose a full symphony for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and is a recipient of India's prestigious Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan awards.
