As the lead vocalist, pianist, and co-founder of the Grammy-nominated band The Fray, he defined a piano-driven rock and pop sound. Slade co-wrote hits like "How to Save a Life" and "Over My Head (Cable Car)." He also contributed to the "We Are the World" remake for Haiti.
