Managed by Buddy Buie, they reached their peak with the 1978 album Champagne Jam. The group performed at the White House and collaborated with artists like Travis Tritt and Wynonna Judd.

Hall supported the antinuclear movement and joined MUSE, organizing No Nukes concerts with Jackson Browne and others. Hall returned to Orleans before his political career, winning a U.S. Congress seat in 2006. The band endured tragedies, including Kelly's and Larry Hoppen's passing.
