Dayton, Ohio-born guitarist John Scofield is a jazz improviser known for a distinctive slightly distorted sound, spanning post-bop, fusion, funk, and soul-jazz. He played with Miles Davis in the ’80s and won Grammys for Past Present and Country for Old Men.

Nicholas Payton

New Orleans-born trumpeter, keyboardist, and singer Nicholas Payton blends post-bop jazz with hip-hop, funk, and R&B. He won a Grammy for his 1997 collaboration with Doc Cheatham and released albums including Dear Louis and Bitches.

Bill Stewart

Drummer Bill Stewart, known for jazz, debuted as a leader in 1995 with "Snide Remarks", featuring John Scofield & Joe Lovano. Studied at William Patterson College, played with Maceo Parker, and notably in Scofield’s band.
