She's collaborated with her family in the Weilerstein Trio and recorded with Decca and PentaTone, known for works with composers like Golijov and Auerbach. Leonidas Kavakos, born in Athens, is a renowned violinist and conductor. Known for his Sibelius Violin Concerto recording, he won Gramophone's Concerto of the Year. Kavakos frequently collaborates with Emanuel Ax and Yo-Yo Ma, performing and recording chamber music, including Beethoven trios. He has toured worldwide and was a principal guest artist with Camerata Salzburg.
Violinist Gil Shaham, born in Illinois, raised in Israel, rose to fame in the 1990s with Grammy-winning works like Barber's Violin Concerto. He collaborated with André Previn, Eric Jacobsen, played a Stradivarius, and founded Canary Classics. Shaham was Avery Fisher Prize winner, and Instrumentalist of the Year (2012).
