Rob Base, born Robert Ginyard in Harlem, is best known for the hip-hop classic "It Takes Two" with DJ E-Z Rock. The duo's album went platinum and Spin named it Single of the Year. After releasing a solo album, Base reunited with E-Z Rock for Break of Dawn in 1994. E-Z Rock passed away in 2014 and was honored at the Hip Hop Hall of Fame.
Lime, a Montreal-based electronic disco band led by Denis & Denyse LePage, hit the 1980s scene with hits like "Your Love" and "Baby, We're Gonna Love Tonight."
TKA, born in NYC’s Latin club scene, were signed by Tommy Boy in 1987. They blend love ballads with hip-hop beats. Known for "Scars of Love" and collaborations in the freestyle genre.

Lisa Velez, known as Lisa Lisa of the 80s supergroup Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, was born in Hell's Kitchen, NYC. Renowned for freestyle and Latin pop hits like "I Wonder If I Take You Home" and "Head to Toe," she was the first Puerto Rican/Latino artist to hit the Pop and R&B charts. Collaborating with Full Force and C&C Music Factory, her platinum hits influenced artists like J-Lo and Cardi B, making her a pivotal figure in Latin music.
Freestyle icon Trinere, from Miami, teamed with Pretty Tony, excelled in post-disco club music. Hits like "I'll Be All You Ever Need" topped Billboard's club chart. Known for albums like Trinere (1986), collaborated with Brandon Christopher.
JJ Fad, a rap group from Rialto, CA, rose to fame with their Grammy-nominated hit "Supersonic" in 1988. The all-female trio, backed by DJ Train, were the first female rap group to go platinum. Their song was later sampled by Fergie for "Fergalicious," reigniting their popularity. Touring with original members and DJ Arabian Prince, they credit Eazy-E and N.W.A. for their success and were honored with a street name in Rialto.
