LineUp

Exposé, a Miami-born vocal trio, hit fame in the '80s with Latin freestyle dance-pop and adult contemporary ballads like "Point of No Return" and "Seasons Change." Created by Lewis A. Martineé, they saw major success with albums like "Exposure," and "What You Don't Know." Despite lineup changes, their notable trio included Jeanette Jurado, Gioia Bruno, and Ann Curless.
Rob Base, born Robert Ginyard in Harlem, hit big with “It Takes Two” alongside DJ E-Z Rock. Known for pioneering hip-house, their track ruled dance floors and climbed Billboard's Top 40. Despite personal and legal challenges, Base released solo work, though none matched their initial success. The duo briefly reunited before E-Z Rock's death in 2014.
The Jets, a band of 8 siblings from a Tongan family in Minneapolis, hit fame in 1986-89 with songs like "Crush on You." Known for dance-pop, they achieved gold albums before shifting to gospel in the '90s.
Candyman, born John B. Shaffer III in South Central L.A., is known for the playful pop-rap hit "Knockin' Boots." A former Ice-T Rhyme Syndicate affiliate, he charted Top Ten on the Hot 100. Collaborating with Johnny J, Candyman released "Ain't No Shame in My Game" in 1990 and worked with producers like DJ Quik and Prince Paul. He appeared in Nas' "Where Are They Now" remix and partnered with J Bigga in 2011.
Brooklyn-based Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, feat. Full Force members Hughes & Moseley, dominated mid-'80s dance-pop/R&B. Hits include "I Wonder if I Take You Home." Peaked in the '80s, disbanded in 1991.
American R&B group Color Me Badd, formed in Oklahoma City in 1985, known for hits like "I Wanna Sex You Up". Sold over 12M records, won numerous awards, and appeared in films and TV. Only Mark Calderon remains from the original lineup.
Rap group JJ Fad from Rialto, CA, rose to fame with "Supersonic," a Grammy-nominated, platinum hit. Known as the Ruthless Princesses, they are backed by Arabian Prince & honor N.W.A and Eazy-E. Recently celebrated with their own street, JJFAD WAY!
Atlanta's Tag Team duo, known for the '90s hit "Whoomp! There It Is," sold over 4 million copies. Known for high-energy party rap, their work includes hits like "U Go From" and albums with massive singles.
