Zapp, a 1980s funk band from Hamilton, OH, gained fame with their electro pop and vocoder styles. Known for hits like "More Bounce to the Ounce" and collaborations with Bootsy Collins. Led by Roger Troutman, their sound was influenced by the Ohio Players and Parliament. Their popular track "I Want to Be Your Man" topped R&B charts, and collaboration with Dr. Dre & 2Pac on "California Love" stood out. Tragedy struck when Roger was killed by his brother, Larry, in 1999.
Los Lobos, formed in East L.A. in 1973, mixes rock, blues, Tex-Mex, and folk. Notable for "La Bamba," they embraced diverse sounds from Mexican folk to punk-influenced rock. Known for generations-spanning appeal and Grammy-nominated album Native Sons.
Los Lonely Boys, a sibling trio from San Angelo, Texas, blend rock, blues, and Tex-Mex music. Known for "Heaven," they won a Grammy and collaborate with Willie Nelson.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1995, Ozomatli blends urban-Latino with various global styles, earning 3 GRAMMYs & selling out global shows. Known for energizing music in Spanish & English.
