Jason Terrance Phillips, better known by his stage name Jadakiss, is an American rapper from Yonkers, New York. He began his career in the 1990s as a member of the hip-hop trio The LOX, alongside Styles P and Sheek Louch, gaining prominence under Bad Boy Records and Ruff Ryders Entertainment. Widely regarded as one of the genre's most technically skilled lyricists, he launched a successful solo career in 2001 with his gold-certified debut album Kiss Tha Game Goodbye, followed by the Billboard 200 chart-topping album Kiss of Death in 2004, which featured his highest-charting protest single "Why?". His subsequent critically acclaimed solo releases include The Last Kiss, Top 5 Dead or Alive, and Ignatius.
