Oscar Peterson's 100th Birthday Celebration

August 15, 2025 marks the occasion of the Maharajah of the Keyboard Oscar Peterson's 100th birthday. For the occasion of his centennial and to commemorate his long history with Birdland, there will be celebrations for Peterson's birthday week both at Birdland Jazz Club and the Birdland Theater.

Performances at Birdland Theater

The celebrations of Oscar Peterson's Centennial in the Birdland Theater during his birthday week will feature performances from acclaimed pianists:

• Robi Botos (August 15)
• Champian Fulton (August 16)
• Ben Paterson (August 17)

Each pianist will bring their own unique style to selections from Peterson's expansive catalogue. You will be treated to three unique nights of music highlighting some of today's exciting pianistic talents while celebrating the legacy of one of their inspirations.

Each night, the pianists will be joined by Brandi Disterheft on bass and Jim Doxas on drums.
