Dance With A Stranger, formed in 1984 in Bergen, Norway, is a renowned pop group. Known for hits like "Everyone Needs A Friend" and "The Invisible Man," they won a Spellemann Award and are celebrated for their soulful style and dynamic live performances. Despite a hiatus, they remain one of Norway's best-selling bands, known for exciting reunions and tours.
Norwegian songwriter Erlend Ropstad, acclaimed for his captivating performances, won acclaim for "Brenn Siste Brevet" (2019), and earned eight Grammy nominations.
Norwegian band Briskeby, formed in 1996, rose to fame in 1999 with Lise Karlsnes as lead singer. Known for catchy pop tunes, they won four Norwegian Grammys with their debut album "Jeans for Onassis" and toured with a-ha. Despite a brief decline, they returned with hits like "Miss You Like Crazy" and collaborated with Ken Stringfellow.
Norwegian singer-songwriter Bjørn Eidsvåg, born in Sauda, melds pop with open-minded Christian themes. Known since the '70s, he critiques organized religion in hits, collaborates widely, and has numerous albums starting with "Inn for Landing" in 1976.
Originating as Wannskraekk in '70s Trondheim, Norway's DumDum Boys, named after an Iggy Pop song, switched to rock in '85. Known for their 1988 debut, "Blodig Alvor", they are a landmark in Norwegian rock.
