PineCone

PineCone, the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, originated in Raleigh, NC, in 1984. Founded by Wayne and Margaret Martin, Ron Raxter, and Beverly Young, it preserves, presents, and promotes traditional folk music and dance, including bluegrass and old-time. Known for its concert series, jams, workshops, youth programs, and the Raleigh Wide Open festival, PineCone celebrates roots music.

Michael Doucet

Lafayette-born Michael Doucet leads BeauSoleil, blending Cajun, blues, rock & country. A gifted fiddler, he’s won 2 Grammys and an NEA Heritage Fellowship.
