San Francisco's Possessed, pioneers of death metal, are known for their brutal sound and Jeff Becerra's guttural vocals. Their influential albums, *Seven Churches* (1985) and *Beyond the Gates* (1986), set the genre's standards. Initially disbanded in 1987, they re-formed in 2017 and released *Revelations of Oblivion* in 2019. Notably collaborated with Joe Satriani.
