Escape-Ism is Ian Svenonius’s lo-fi underground rock project, driven by electronics, buzzy guitars, and subversive lyrics. Launched as his first true solo project, it debuted with Introduction to Escape-Ism (2017, Merge) and continued with The Lost Record (2018).

Pulp

Formed by Jarvis Cocker in 1978, Pulp rose from 1980s obscurity to become a major British ’90s indie rock band. Their glam/disco/new wave-influenced sound peaked with the hit “Common People” and 1995’s chart-topping Different Class.
