British new wave band ABC, led by Martin Fry, gained fame in the early '80s with hits like "Poison Arrow" and "Look of Love." Known for their synth-driven pop and theatrical style, they topped charts with their debut album and found success on MTV and in the US market.
London's Wang Chung, originally Huang Chung, soared in the '80s US music scene with hits like "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" & "Dance Hall Days." Known for new wave style, they focused on the US market, collaborating with major labels like Arista & Geffen.
Led by Pauline Black OBE, the Selecter are ska legends known for hits like “Three Minute Hero” and “Too Much Pressure.” Celebrated for their 2-Tone sound and era-defining impact.
Chesney Hawkes, born in Windsor, delivers heartfelt pop-rock in "Living Arrows," co-written with Nik Kershaw and produced by Jake Gosling. Hits include "LOUD!" and "Live Forever."
Holly Johnson, born in Liverpool, rose to fame as frontman of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, known for hits like "Relax" and "The Power of Love." Haircut 100, an iconic '80s band, hailed from the UK with hits like 'Love Plus One' and 'Fantastic Day'. Their debut album, 'Pelican West', hit #2 and went Platinum. Reunited in 2023, they connected as old friends, sparking a revival with a UK tour and a Radio 2 session, embodying a joyful return to their roots.
Kid Creole, born in the Bronx, co-founded Kid Creole and the Coconuts in 1979. Known for a unique mix of tropical and disco sounds, he's released 15 albums and 27 singles. Notable collaborations include Adriana Kaegi and Coati Mundi. A multi-talented artist, he's ventured into stage musicals and screenwriting.
