Sixpence None The Richer is a rock band known for its distinctive blend of indie-rock and introspective songwriting. Their live performances are filled with guitar riffs, driving bass, and pounding drums. As they embark on touring in 2024 and 2025, their first since 2013, lead singer Leigh Nash shares her excitement, saying, "I want to come out swinging."
With a discography spanning six full-length albums and the newly released Rosemary Hill EP, Sixpence's sound remains anchored in Nash's unmistakable vocals and Matt Slocum's intricate guitar work. The band is perhaps best known for their hit singles, including "Kiss Me," which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a top-10 hit in sixteen countries alongside "There She Goes," "Breathe Your Name," and "Don't Dream It's Over." "Kiss Me" continues to grow in popularity, recently surpassing one billion streams on Spotify, with 33% of those occurring in just the past year. The song frequently appears in Shazam's weekly U.S. Top 200, goes viral on TikTok, and remains a staple in film, television, and advertising worldwide. In July 2024, "Kiss Me" was certified triple platinum by the RIAA, marking a remarkable resurgence; it went double platinum in 2023, following its initial platinum certification in 1999.
Sixpence None The Richer has earned two Grammy Award nominations, multiple Dove Awards, and accolades such as Top Soundtrack Single at the Billboard Music Awards and Best Song at the Young Hollywood Awards. Their rendition of "There She Goes" by The La's was also recognized as a BMI Pop Awards Top Song in 2001.
Formed in 1992 by Slocum and Nash in New Braunfels, Texas, Sixpence None The Richer has released six LPs: "The Fatherless and the Widow" (1993), "This Beautiful Mess" (1995), "Sixpence None The Richer" (1997), "Divine Discontent" (2002), "The Dawn of Grace" (2008), and "Lost in Transition" (2012), along with two earlier EPs: "Tickets for a Prayer Wheel" (1995) and "My Dear Machine" (2008.
After reuniting in 2024, the band embarked on their first tour in nearly 20 years, performing in 50 cities across the U.S. and selling out iconic venues in Chicago, Nashville, New York, Washington, D.C., Santa Ana, West Hollywood, New Braunfels, Raleigh, and many more!
