British gothic post-punks Theatre of Hate formed in 1980, led by singer/songwriter Kirk Brandon. Their debut Westworld (produced by Mick Jones of the Clash) hit the UK Top 20 and spawned the Top 40 single "Do You Believe in the Westworld?".

Skids

Skids, formed in Dunfermline, Scotland, in 1977, are known for their art-punk style. Key members included vocalist Richard Jobson and guitarist Stuart Adamson. They gained fame with hits like "Into the Valley" and "Masquerade." Produced by Bill Nelson, their second album Days in Europa was well-received. After lineup changes and disbandment, they reunited in 2007 for tribute shows. The original lineup re-formed for a 2017 tour, releasing the album Burning Cities in 2018.
