LineUp

St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1880, is the second oldest U.S. professional orchestra. Based at Powell Hall since 1968, it has 60 Grammy nominations and nine wins, including 2015 for John Adams: City Noir under David Robertson.
Jean Sibelius was a Finnish composer of the late Romantic and early modern periods, widely regarded as his country's greatest composer. He is known for his significant contributions to symphonic and orchestral music, including his set of seven symphonies, the violin concerto, and symphonic tone poems such as Finlandia. His music drew heavily on Finnish myths and legends, particularly the epic poem Kalevala, and played an important role in the formation of the Finnish national identity.
Sergei Prokofiev, a Russian composer born in 1891, forged a distinctive, often percussive and lyrical style in classical music. He is celebrated for masterpieces like the ballets "Romeo and Juliet" and "Cinderella," the children's tale "Peter and the Wolf," and powerful piano concertos. His unique voice, blending modern harmonies with classical structure, profoundly shaped 20th-century music.
