Case Oats formed when writer/poet Casey Gomez Walker met drummer Spencer Tweedy (who’s played with Jeff Tweedy, Waxahatchee, Mavis Staples, and Norah Jones). The band crafts country-rock-leaning songs with wry, confessional lyrics; “Seventeen” introduced their sound.

Superchunk

Chapel Hill indie-punk/power-pop vets on Merge: “Slack Motherfucker,” “Hyper Enough.” Albini-recorded No Pocky; Jim O’Rourke prod. Come Pick Me Up. Guests incl. Waxahatchee.
