The Trammps are an American disco and soul band formed in Philadelphia in the mid-1960s, known as one of the first disco bands. They broke through with a 1972 cover of Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart and won a Grammy for Disco Inferno.
Lime was a Montreal electronic disco band from the early 1980s, made up of husband-and-wife duo Denis and Denyse LePage. Best known for #1 US Billboard Disco-chart hit Your Love and the 1982 album Lime II with Baby, We're Gonna Love Tonight.
Tavares are a five-brother singing group known for million-selling uptempo hits “Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel,” “More Than a Woman,” and “Whodunit,” plus the ballad “Check It Out.” In 1974 they topped R&B with “She’s Gone.”
Musique is an American disco studio project formed in New York City in 1978 by producer Patrick Adams. Known for infectious dancefloor hits like "In the Bush" and "Keep On Jumpin'", which topped the Dance Club Songs chart, the group featured a rotating lineup of vocalists. Though primarily active in the late 70s, Musique continues to perform in disco revival events.
Montreal-native singer France Joli began in 1974 doing commercials and talent shows. She scored a No. 13 national hit with Come to Me (1979) and released the self-titled France Joli. Albums include Tonight, France Joli Now and Attitude.
Philadelphia soul group formed in Philadelphia in 1960. First hitmakers with producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Broke through with Cowboys to Girls (R&B #1, pop #6). Also known for (We'll Be) United and I'll Always Love My Mama; disbanded 1975.
Philadelphia native Rochelle Fleming, lead singer of disco group First Choice, is known for hits like "Armed and Extremely Dangerous" and "Let No Man Put Asunder." Her distinctive voice helped define Philly soul and disco, collaborating with Norman Harris and producers from the Salsoul label. Fleming's vocals are widely sampled in dance music, and she remains a celebrated figure in disco and house scenes.
