Christian McBride, a nine-time GRAMMY-winning bassist and composer, is Artistic Director of Newport Jazz, NJPAC, and more. He hosts NPR's Jazz Night in America.
Karina Rykman, born in NYC, is a dynamic bassist known for her infectious live shows and diverse style. She joined Marco Benevento's band before forming her own with Adam November and Chris Corsico. Rykman has played at major festivals like Bonnaroo and collaborated with artists like Trey Anastasio on her debut album, JOYRIDE, which includes hits like "Elevator" and "Plants."
Five-time Grammy winner Angélique Kidjo from Benin blends West African music with R&B, funk, and jazz. Dubbed "Africa's premier diva" by Time, she advocates for children as a UNICEF Ambassador and founded the Batonga Foundation for girls' education in Africa.
Trumpeter Takuya Kuroda, born in Kobe, Japan, is known for his inventive blend of post-bop, soul-jazz, and hip-hop. Collaborated with José James, releasing albums like Rising Son and Zigzagger, and worked with Antibalas. Kuroda's style shines through in covers and originals, earning acclaim in the vibrant NYC jazz scene.
Born at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, Dumpstaphunk fuses funk, rock, and jazz, with Ivan & Ian Neville leading. They've supported legends like Rolling Stones & collaborated with Santana.
Cool Cool Cool, formed in 2022 by former Turkuaz members, blends Funk, House, and R&B. Known for dynamic female-led vocals and powerful live shows, they create a unique sound.
NYC punk-chic disco-funk band Say She She blends psychedelic grooves, soaring harmonies, and political messages. Led by vocal trio Malik, Cunningham, and Brown.
