American rapper and record producer Warren G (born Warren Griffin III) broke through with the 1994 multi-platinum hit “Regulate” with childhood friend Nate Dogg. Over three decades, he’s sold 8–10 million records worldwide.
Compton, California rapper/producer DJ Quik (born David Marvin Blake) is a funk-inspired beatmaker. His 1991 debut Quik Is the Name went platinum with hits Tonite and Born and Raised in Compton; later gold albums include Way 2 Fonky and Safe & Sound.
Rapper Suga Free debuted with 1997’s Street Gospel and returned to wider attention via guest spots on Xzibit’s Restless and Snoop Dogg’s Tha Last Meal (2000). Albums include The New Testament, Sunday School, Smell My Finger, and The Resurrection.
Fort Wayne, IN singer-songwriter and producer Amanda Perez was signed after a 2000 talent scout meeting. Her 2001 debut Where You At? was reissued by Virgin; singles Angel and I Like It helped her become a crossover star. Albums Angel and I Pray hit the Billboard 200 Top 100.

Born in Inglewood, CA, Mack 10 rose in West Coast rap with hits like "Foe Life," "Bow Down," and "Backyard Boogie." Collaborated with Ice Cube, WC, and launched Hoo-Bangin' Records.
