The Chameleons are an atmospheric pop band formed in Manchester, England, in 1981. After BBC sessions they released the single In Shreds (1982) and albums Script of the Bridge (1983), Strange Times (1986), and Why Call It Anything? (2001).
Hugh Cornwell is a musician, songwriter and performer best known as leader of The Stranglers, main songwriter across 10 albums including Rattus Norvegicus and La Folie. He wrote Golden Brown, which reached No. 2 in the UK, then launched a solo career.
Formed in Solihull (Midlands), Swell Maps pioneered DIY alt-rock: punk fused with experimental/psychedelia; “Read About Seymour,” albums "A Trip to Marineville"/"Jane…"; Rough Trade UK indie chart-topper; influenced Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Blur.
