LineUp

The Drifters, formed by Clyde McPhatter in 1953, became iconic in R&B and pop with hits like "Money Honey" and "There Goes My Baby." They worked with Atlantic Records, producers like Leiber & Stoller, and songwriters Ben E. King. Recognized for lineup changes, their unique string arrangements blended R&B and pop. Key tracks included "Under the Boardwalk" and "Save the Last Dance for Me." With multiple awards and enduring influence, their music bridged genres. Various lawsuits over the name ensued, culminating in the trademark's 1990s ownership by Faye Treadwell.
The Platters®, founded by Herb Reed in 1952-53, are celebrated for their smooth harmonies and evergreen sounds. They're a groundbreaking vocal group in Rock n' Roll, Vocal, and GRAMMY® Halls of Fame, known for global acceptance as the first black group to achieve international superstardom. Members include Lance Bernard Bryant, Omar Ross, Jovian K. Ford, and Brittney Necole Bellamy, with Music Director Michael Larson. Despite challenges, The Platters’ legacy thrives.
