The Orb are pioneers of ambient house, founded in England by Dr. Alex Paterson. Blending slowed Chicago house rhythms with ambient synth work and obscure vocal loops, they achieved breakthrough success with their 1991 debut album Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld and the number one U.K. album U.F.Orb.
