Shock rock pioneer Alice Cooper (born Vincent Furnier) rose in the ’70s with gritty, theatrical hard rock and horror-themed shows. Breakthrough came with “I’m Eighteen” and Love It to Death; School’s Out and Billion Dollar Babies hit No. 1.
Iron Maiden are known for fearless creative independence and spectacular live shows, with a 17-album discography from Iron Maiden to Senjutsu. Classic songs include The Trooper, Run To The Hills, Wasted Years, and Hallowed Be Thy Name.
New York City's Anthrax, formed in 1981, is a thrash metal pioneer and a "Big Four" member. Known for aggressive riffs, humor, and high-energy shows, they delivered classic albums like "Among the Living" and collaborated with Public Enemy on "Bring the Noise." They have multiple Gold certifications and Grammy nominations.
Formed in 1993 at Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland, Apocalyptica are classically trained cellists turned metal act, first known for Metallica covers. Their 1996 debut Plays Metallica By Four Cellos was followed by Plays Metallica, Vol. 2.
D:A:D (Disneyland After Dark) formed in Copenhagen, Denmark in the early 80s. Members include Jesper and Jacob Binzer, Stig Pedersen and drummer Laust Sonne, who replaced Peter Jensen in 1999. Released A Prayer for the Loud in 2019.
Audrey Horne are a Bergen, Norway melodic hard rock/post-grunge band formed in 2002. Their debut album No Hay Banda (2005) won the Norwegian Grammy for Best Metal Act. Albums include Le Fol, Youngblood, Pure Heavy, Blackout, and Devil's Bell.
