The Surf Ballroom, a 2,100-capacity historic ballroom in Clear Lake, IA, was rebuilt in 1948 with a South Seas beach club motif. It's famously known as the site of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson's final concert in 1959.
