Voivod, formed in 1982 in Jonquière, Quebec, is a pioneering metal band known for their unique fusion of thrash, prog, and punk influences. They gained international fame with hits like "Nothingface" and a cover of Pink Floyd's "Astronomy Domine." Their lineup has seen changes, including a stint with ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted. They won a Juno for 2019's The Wake.
