New York-born conductor Marin Alsop became the first woman to lead a major American orchestra as principal conductor of the Baltimore Symphony (2007–2021). Active in jazz/classical crossover, she founded String Fever and has 100+ recordings.
The Philadelphia Orchestra is a renowned classical ensemble based in Philadelphia, performing year-round from Verizon Hall to community venues. Its eighth music director is Yannick Nézet-Séguin, following leaders including Leopold Stokowski and Eugene Ormandy.
Yunchan Lim rose to fame after becoming the youngest gold medalist at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition (2022). A Decca Classics artist, his debut album Chopin Études Opp.10 & 25 went quadruple platinum in South Korea and won a 2024 Gramophone Award.
