A Candlelight concert in Edinburgh brings live strings or piano into historic stone interiors lit by rows of candles, lending familiar compositions a hushed, contemplative character.
Settings include St Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile, recognisable by its crown-shaped spire, and St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral in the West End, a large Gothic Revival building whose three spires rise above Palmerston Place.
Programmes typically pair classical staples with modern reinterpretations.
