Kirche St. Marien Concerts

A beautiful church...a place where you can enjoy peace and quiet. Very nicely decorated on the inside and very centrally located. As a child, I went to mass here every Sunday and had my communion here.

We went to the Advent bazaar, which was once again great.

A place of togetherness, joy and warmth. The priest is very empathetic and there are many opportunities to participate in community life.

Go to church every now and then to light candles. I love the silence in this church, which for me is one of the most beautiful churches. I can justify it with this: It is simple and without any pomp. The wall paintings, the pictures of the cloister, the altar, and the baptismal font are beautiful. The corner with the mosaic of Mary and the kneeler radiate something for which there are no words except this: there is a calmness of peace there that makes you quiet and humble. When you enter the main door, there is a beautiful wooden figure that I always touch because it radiates warmth. The benches are equipped with cushions. So you sit comfortably. The organ has a wonderful sound. And she is still the one I knew from my childhood. This time I was in the middle of a mass in church. That's why I sat down and watched it until the end. I lit the candles at the end of the mass so as not to disrupt the mass. I took a closer look at the high arches. A large Advent wreath and small Christmas crafts hang from the ceiling. The altar is again decorated with the most beautiful flowers. The crib is not yet assembled. What I always miss is the beautiful gallery/pulpit onto which Pastor Kröger climbed to speak personal words to the congregation. Unfortunately it has been dismantled. I was baptized in this church. I've been there regularly since I was a child. After my son died, I hadn't been there for many years. But at some point I had visited my church again because it is somehow my home. This church is also very beautiful from the outside. I photographed them again and again from different perspectives. And you always discover new things. Everyone who goes in feels a sense of well-being in this church and finds peace and deep peace there. The doors are difficult to open for wheelchair users. Even for me, who walks, it's always a struggle to get these heavy doors open. You're happy when you get it opened by a helpful person. But there is space for wheelchair users in the church. Unfortunately there are no toilets there. In winter you have to dress warmly. Because despite the heating, it is cold in the church. This has to do with the very high walls. In summer, the cold church is good when it is much too warm outside. What I have also missed for a long time: As a child and teenager, I always saw nuns in church. You don't see them anymore these days. That's a shame because you could always have very nice conversations with them. When times and people change, one thing always remains the same, inside and out, that is the beautiful St. Mary's Church.

A monumental church tastefully decorated. A great combination of brown vaulting, white walls and marble finishes. The whole is perfectly complemented by simple, aesthetic wall paintings. The unique figure of the crucified Jesus also attracts attention. While in Delmenhorst, you can visit this parish just for its beautiful temple.
