Enjoyed a night of fantastic music from the upper balcony, where the view is great (unless you want to be able to see the features on the face of whoever you're seeing--then don't sit here). We were here for the Xcision Nexus tour, and the show is about the music, light display, and videos, so sitting far away wasn't a big deal. The sound is incredible regardless of where you sit. I was exceedingly impressed with security who ran things with professionalism and integrity from before the show started (organizing and getting people through a line that stretched around corners and down sidewalks on three different streets!) until everyone left for the night. They kept the aisles clear and dealt quickly and professionally with people who needed an escort or two out of the building. My only two grumbles are seating and bathrooms. I'm not sure if all the seats in the theater are as bad as the ones we sat on in the upper balcony, but they are the most uncomfortable seats I've ever had the displeasure of sitting on in, quite possibly, my entire life. They're broken, with springs sticking up, and as a result, they're lumpy and do not allow for any resemblance of comfort, let alone good posture, whatsoever. It's no surprise that my husband and I both have backaches today. There is no excuse for not replacing these seats pronto. The only other negative is that it took me almost a half hour to use the bathroom because there are only two stalls for women on the balcony floor. Overall though, it was a great night, and the Masonic is a great place to attend a concert.

Sold out crowd for Social Distortion / Bad Religion. Great show. The venue was insanely over-crowded. The line was still outside and a quarter mile down the block 2 &1/2 hours after doors opened. Glut of people on GA Main floor seating was very poorly managed. It was still impossible to find room to stand (much less sit) 90 minutes after the show started. Line for merch went down 2 flights of stairs and took an extra 90 minutes after the show. Beautiful venue though. Strikingly beautiful. I will never attend another sold-out event at this place, but I would definitely come back for a smaller show.

What a fantastic performance at one of Detroit’s most historic venues, the Masonic Temple. The Kalkaska quartet sounded easily like a much larger orchestra than just a four piece; yet they did every song they played justice, and then some. We had a great time, highly recommend!

Beautiful, historic venue. I have seen multiple shows here. All went smoothly security wise. Good parking options. Great shows. I recommend pit or balcony over lower level GA seating, people tend to try and crowd in the frontmost rows of the lower level and it can get overwhelming.

I'm never disappointed with this venue! This was, my second time here. I always love the visuals! Excision 3/26/24
