Optimist Ice Arena Concerts

Melody n Don are great caretakers of this optimist ice arena they continue to grow and love this place that makes it fun family place to be 👏👏👏😎👷‍♂️🇺🇸

Kinda disappointed. First off they charge more for open skate during the holidays, not sure why but ridiculous. Second off you have a little more then 1hr open skate and there isn't a halftime to smooth out the ice. 36 min left and the ice is beyond chewed up. Definitely gone down hill since I use to come here 12 years ago.

For the amount they charge to free skate for a little over an hour, you would think they could afford enough skate-mates to accommodate as many children as the rink can hold. Management showed no compassion or empathy for two toddlers who were crying because they didn’t get a chance to touch the ice. Judging from other reviews we’re not the only ones to have had this complaint, which shows me that the management/ownership at Optimus doesn’t care enough to provide the best service they can, but only cares about how bloated they’re bank accounts can get.

I’ve lived in Jackson my whole life and only started coming here recently. I missed out. The staff is great. The atmosphere is always positive and the open skate is good clean non-screen fun for all ages. We go almost every weekend now and haven’t seen any misbehaving of any sort, and I’m a teacher so I am extra sensitive to it.

The refs at this rink have such big egos and this rink can't attract talented referees at all to Jackson, so we are all stuck with the same ones. The disrespect the referees have for teams here warrants discipline, but the league director Dave won't say anything and won't step in. It's so bad I've started playing in other cities nearby and actually having fun playing hockey again
