El Cid Concerts 2024

Love this venue. We come here on Sundays for Hot Dog, a Silverlake gay party. I've always love indoor/outdoor bars, and both the patio space and inside areas are cool. Really cool lighting inside, it really feels like an authentic Mexican Hacienda. I like that the security here doesn't overpolice or oversantize gay events. If I had one suggestion, I'd suggest adding a third bar on the upstairs patio. But that's nitpicking. Super cool space, chill vibes.

This was our first time in this historic venue, and we saw Lola Young on this night .The walk down was was beautiful but not very handicap accessible since there is quite a lot of stairs. Never the less beautiful 😍 the inside has a small stage but it's very romantic feeling and intimate. It was a great show and the energy was just a great. There's an outdoor area for other shows and some seating as well.

Horrible service here. Came to watch a performance and paid for 5 tickets to be seated at one of the big booths, but there were 2 women already sitting at the booth. I asked the waiter about it and instead of being accommodating he said “well that’s too bad they’re already sitting there” - even though the tickets I purchased were clearly labeled “booth for 5”. The waiters name is Gilberto. He was extremely rude and condescending. Food is also overpriced and mediocre. Don’t recommend coming here.

Has been a while since I hadn't gone to El Cid. The venue speaks for itself. I just took these photos because due to my Spaniard heritage.

I’ve had many great nights at El Cid, but my last experience will dissuade me from future visits. I wanted to take a group of friends on Saturday, which is usually a very popular and fun evening. We got to the door around 11pm, and surprisingly there was no line. We asked for the cover and were told $10 by the bouncer. We asked if there was anything happening inside, and the bouncer said it was a packed party. We all paid the cover and went inside, but soon saw there were hardly any people indoors or outdoors, and a DJ playing to an empty dance floor. We quickly turned around and hoped to get our money back since we just hopped in for less than two minutes and were given misleading information from the bouncer. We passed the bouncer on the stairs while leaving and asked if we could get a refund. He scoffed at us and said “Nope!” We talked to the other bouncers at the door who were more understanding, and they directed us to contact the website. I sent a message to management explaining the situation and never heard back.
