The room was clean and quiet. The staff did a great job refreshing the room while I was gone. I did not get to experience much of the resort aspect of this hotel, but being collocated with the casino and restaurants was nice. Since there were no concerts or events while I was there it didn't seem very busy. Starbucks in the lobby area was limited, but fast. The only negatives I had were the lack of complimentary breakfast, pocked concrete near the outdoor pool, and limited options for dinner.

1st stay: Great room, clean and quiet! Only stayed for one night (no events or concerts) but had a great time and a great meal, so we came back next time we drove through. 2nd stay: SO GREAT!!!! Booked a bigger room using points and encountered no issues. Pet friendly, clean, and quiet! The fireplaces (2 fireplaces!!!) in the rooms worked and are so charming. The air conditioning in the room did not work, but luckily it wasn't needed. The suite has two balconies! The views from either side are pretty peaceful. The resort has a HUGE courtyard to walk your dogs in! There are bag stations everywhere, so you know the place really means pet friendly. Plus, there's a long walking path along the golf course, and an actual fenced-in pet park to unleash your pets and run around. We had good meals from (I think) every location in the casino that was open. Even the candy store was good. We did not visit during any event, so the property was very quiet. It's lovely. The gift shops are very cool. Got a truly wonderful woven blanket. Thanks Buffalo Thunder! We'll probably be back.

Stepping into Buffalo Thunder Hotel and Casino is like a stroll down memory lane, if that lane was lined with aging slot machines that seem to have a grudge against modern tickets. The no-drinks-on-the-casino-floor policy meant I spent more time hunting for a beverage than playing, which was a bit of a buzzkill. The hotel itself screams for an update, but I can't complain about the upgrade thanks to my diamond status – a small perk in a somewhat desolate setting with scarce staff. The room's upgrade brought its own quirks, like a tale of two showers: one stand-up shower that preferred to water the bathroom rather than the person in it, and a tub-shower combo that remained a mystery, unused. And the desk chair? It looked like it had survived a scuffle in the parking lot, with scratches to tell the tale. The in-house Starbucks had a single, hardworking employee, making the wait for a coffee longer than the anticipation for a jackpot. The spa was a mixed bag – an excellent massage contrasted sharply with a men's lounge that felt more like a sterile waiting room than a relaxation zone. The steam room seemed to have missed several appointments with a cleaner, and the lack of towels added a survivalist twist to my post-steam dry-off. As for the 1980s-style whirlpool, it remained a relic I couldn't bring myself to try. Dining was a hit-or-miss affair. The steak at the restaurant was more charred history than culinary delight, albeit served by wonderful staff. In summary, Buffalo Thunder has the potential to be a knockout, but currently, it's more of a gentle nudge.

Overall a nice place, make sure you are requesting a room nearish to the elevator or you will be walking a 1/4 of mile to your room. Would have been a 5 star review but the restaurant in the casino has some very poor service, they do not treat Diamond members well, the wait staff will bring you your check with no pen, and then get very strange acting when you want to charge to your room, one waitress would not let me leave until she "verified" I was a guest, I have never been treated like that as a Diamond member.

We stayed here for a conference a few days. We had a lovely spacious room & housekeeping did a fantastic job the place was spotless & the decor is gorgeous throughout. The meeting rooms we were in were clean & AV staff were good. The staff who did our catering were all super helpful. I wish there was coffee besides meh Starbucks & there’s a long line here in the morning but I brought my own coffee & tea & I'm glad they had coffee bean & tea leaf in the rooms. Indoor pool & hot tub in winter was SO nice. Fitness room is better than most hotel gyms. There was a Tesla concert but it was sadly sold out. Happy for free parking. Front desk staff were friendly & helpful. The things that weren't great: as others have said it's far from downtown so it's best to rent a car as I did or keep a taxi company number available as my friend did. Iguana cafe was very average, bar closed at midnight & the only restaurant closed by 10 so we had ramen in our room which was ok but not ideal.
