The Santa Fe Opera Reviews

I saw Tosca and this is my second time seeing N opera in Santa Fe. The first time was over ten years ago. I took my husband to see this opera theatre for the first time and he loved it. We plan to make this a summer thing. If you haven't been to Santa Fe, then Santa Fe Opera is worth the Trip. The singers were phenomenal and it's all outdoor!

Come early to have a picnic and watch the sun go down. You can dress way up or come as you are, but bring a jacket since the sides are open to the night air. Excellent performances and a free, informal intro one hour before the performance to key in on what to listen for. Subtitles in English and Spanish on the back of the seat in front of you. Best date night in the Land of Enchantment.

Absolutely stunning venue! It’s difficult for me to describe all Mother Nature surrounding the opera house, specially that magnificent sunset right in front of the audience! Highly recommend it.

This was my first season. Ticket purchase was easy. I really didn't expect the tailgating. Parking opens three hours early, so you can take a party with you. I saw pretty impressive spreads. The experience begins with the visual appeal of the landscape as you walk up to the box office. Acoustics are impressive. The instruments can be clearly heard from the pit. Because it is partially outdoors, the weather conditions sometimes contribute to the show. Barber of Seville was funny and with Santa Fe touches, but funny is difficult with the demands on those voices. They made it seem easy. Carmen showed the talent can turn serious. I hope to make more shows next season.

This is a top-notch venue where high-quality performances are put on this stage. It's amazing the high quality of talent that they are able to bring in, noting the elevation is hard on the singers. There is a full orchestra and a great stage crew which gives you the full experience. This is a covered outdoor venue. Even the back of the stage can be left open to add the landscape to be part of the set. There are other concerts besides operas that can be found on the Santa Fe opera website. Also, from this website, you can find food options and more information to enhance your experience.
