Alex Cameron

Australian singer-songwriter Alex Cameron has announced the release of his fifth studio album, Late to Set.

In January 2025 Alex Cameron exploded his life in a controlled detonation largely ignored by the universe. No one was safe. And nobody noticed. The charred remains of Cameron's life fragmented and reassembled into 9 synthetic rock songs detailing his world's deep confusion and regret. He continues to find pieces of his own reflection in the shattered characters he creates and embodies. Their yearnings and their humiliations. The promised Messiah. Agamemnon's appetite for war. Mel Gibson's ransom note. Humanity's Pro-War destiny. A cold war breakup. This is the sound of a man walking out on somebody else's family. Into a new world afraid to remember what it used to be. These are songs of protest against life itself. This is the world our fathers feared. And here is its soundtrack.

Listen as he runs from the lonely blaze of his own making, towards the warmer, smaller fire of the underground. Production credits include Mark Perkins, Zach Dawes and Maxim Ludwig among others. Late to Set will be out on July 24th, 2026. Pre-save the album at https://ditto.fm/late-to-set and vinyl pre-order is available today at https://ditto.fm/late-to-set.

“Red Hook Rain” is a growling triumph - an ancient anthem for your most local devastation. Barry Gibb meets Martin Rev. Depeche Mode via a construction site stereo. It's Cameron at his most heartbroken and hopeful. Written on the edge of a hurricane with the sky shaking like the heads of so many disapproving Gods. For Cameron the tornado is still spinning in New York. And you can talk at him all you want but you can't make him go back. Even if he wants to.
