Mark Hummel, born in New Haven, raised in LA, is a harmonica player and singer known for West Coast blues. He formed the Blues Survivors and worked with Sue Foley; notable albums include "Feel Like Rockin'" and "Heart of Chicago." Hummel played major U.S. blues festivals, judged the Hohner Harmonica World Championships, and collaborated with Chicago musicians like Willie "Big Eyes" Smith.
Dallas-based guitarist Anson Funderburgh, born in 1954, leads the Rockets with Sam Myers, blending Texas jump and Delta blues. Known for hits on Black Top Records, they toured widely, earning acclaim for their energetic performances. Collaborated with the Fabulous Thunderbirds and played with Lightnin' Hopkins.
