LineUp

Founded in Atlanta in 1945 as the Atlanta Youth Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has recorded 100+ albums, won 27 Grammy Awards, and performs 200+ concerts yearly. Music director Nathalie Stutzman debuted on record in 2024 with Dvorák: Symphony No. 9.
Maurice Ravel's Boléro, a renowned orchestral ballet from France (1928), captivates with its hypnotic, repetitive melody and masterful orchestration. This iconic one-movement classical work, originally for dancer Ida Rubinstein, builds a relentless crescendo. Celebrated for its unique structure and enduring appeal, it remains a frequently performed and widely recognized composition.
French contralto and conductor Nathalie Stutzmann, born in Suresnes near Paris, founded Orfeo 55 and became music director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 2021. Her recordings won Diapason d'Or, and Debussy’s Le Martyre de Saint Sebastien earned a Grammy nod.
Ludwig van Beethoven, a German composer and pianist from Bonn, bridged the Classical and Romantic eras with his innovative, emotionally intense music. Renowned for works like the "Moonlight Sonata," Fifth Symphony, and Ninth Symphony, he revolutionized instrumental music, elevating it to high art. He continued composing despite profound deafness.
