Founded in 1881, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, supported by banker Henry Lee Higginson, is a pillar of U.S. orchestral culture. Its legendary recordings, especially on RCA Victor, benefit from Boston's Symphony Hall acoustics. Known for premieres of works by Stravinsky and Bartók, it has been led by conductors Monteux, Koussevitsky, and Ozawa. It also has ties with Tanglewood Music Festival and contributed to film scores like Spielberg's "Schindler's List" and "Saving Private Ryan" with John Williams.
Andris Nelsons, Music Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, is renowned for his innovative leadership. As Gewandhauskapellmeister, he pioneers unique collaborations and has won two Grammy Awards. Nelsons, a Deutsche Grammophon exclusive artist since 2016, is known for exploring Anton Bruckner's symphonies.
Born in Seoul, pianist Seong-Jin Cho won the 17th Chopin Competition (2015), and the Hamamatsu (2009). Studied in Paris. Known for emotional depth, his albums topped charts and secured global acclaim.
