Dean Wareham, born in Wellington, NZ, became known for his psychedelic pop with Galaxie 500 and Luna. His dreamy style and critically acclaimed albums like *Penthouse* made him an indie rock icon. Wareham collaborated with Velvet Underground’s Sterling Morrison and Stereolab’s Laetitia Sadier. Post-Luna, he formed Dean & Britta with Britta Phillips, scoring films and releasing albums.
